Connecting students with real-world opportunities to influence technological development and policy within their communities and the world.
The Youth AI Research Fellowship (YAIRF) is designed to bridge the gap between youth communities, emerging technology, and District, State, or Federal level decision-makers.
Rather than focusing solely on technological mastery or coding skills, YAIRF equips fellows with the critical frameworks, governance knowledge, and advocacy tools needed to demand sustained, ethical, and equitable technology policies.
Through mentorship, policy research, and direct engagement with educational leaders and public officials, fellows ensure that youth voices directly shape how artificial intelligence is integrated into schools and civic life.
Developing a rigorous understanding of algorithmic accountability, data privacy laws, District, State, and Federal edtech policies, and youth rights in the digital age.
Conducting technology research to identify disparities in AI access, privacy risks, and algorithmic bias across sectors.
Facilitating direct dialogue, policy memo submissions, research presentations, and advisory participation with school boards, technologists, and legislative committees.
